NORTH NOVA
The Northumberland Straight has more warm-water ocean beaches than anywhere else in Atlantic Canada. But when residents aren’t getting sand between their toes, they enjoy the local wine industry, fresh lobster, and Celtic culture that defines life in this beautiful region. From Amherst to Antigonish and everywhere in between, this place is as affordable as it is charming, and as connected to the sea as the people are connected to each other. A true community feeling in which to work and play.

Meet Dr. Kelsey Holt
Graduate
Completing residency in the North Nova program made the transition to independent practice a breeze. Thanks to the supportive community of specialists, allied health providers, and other family doctors I worked with as a resident, I felt excited to continue in the community as a colleague.
I appreciated the flexibility I had during my training in a longitudinal curriculum - this allowed me to tailor my schedule to focus on areas I wanted more exposure to, and helped solidify my plan for practice. Our program is spread over a large area, yet we had a close connection as a resident group and continue to stay in touch with each other even after graduating.
Each of the growing communities that make up North Nova have great features, from the cat sanctuary in New Glasgow to the full-service community centre in Truro (which is right by the hospital), there is something for everyone.
Sound like a good fit?
